On August 24, 2019, the 4th China Labor Economics Association Annual Conference was held at the China Institute of Labor Relations. Hundreds of members from the Chinese Society of Labor Economics and its branches, teachers and students from universities from all over the world attended the meeting. Associate researcher Chen Hao of our institute was invited to participate in the annual meeting and made a speech at the sub-forum of "Labor Market in High-quality Economic Development".
The topic of Mr. Chen Hao’s speech was “Policy Design for Partial Poverty Alleviation and Getting Rid of Poverty Trap”. He demonstrated the poverty reduction effect of targeted poverty alleviation policies from the perspectives of theoretical models and empirical research, and proposed “Poverty Alleviation Policy Combined with Science” on this basis. The “poverty alleviation effect evaluation system” can help regions get rid of the poverty trap. The speech was approved by the participating experts.
