Teacher Chen Hao from our institute participated in the 7th Camphor Economics Forum (Nanjing Yangzhou) and gave a presentation

     On April 14, 2018, the 7th Camphor Economics Forum (Nanjing Yangzhou) was held in Yangzhou University, from Shandong University, University of International Business and Economics, Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, Nanjing Audit University, Nanjing University of Information Technology, Nearly 100 experts and students from Huaqiao University and other universities participated in this forum. Dean Lu Biao of the Business School of Yangzhou University delivered an opening speech. Chen Hao, associate researcher and doctoral supervisor of our school, was invited to participate in this forum and preached the paper "High Income of Official Children: Ability or Power".

 

     The thesis examines the reasons for the high income of officials' children, and for the first time puts forward and identified the impact of power-dependence represented by education level on the income of officials' children. Research based on linear regression and propensity score matching shows that under the current increasingly complete supervision mechanism and strict supervision environment, pure power no longer has a significant role in promoting children’s income growth, but the power represented by the level of education is dependent on Sexual ability can still indirectly reinforce the inequality between the income of the children of officials and the children of ordinary families. The indirect increase of the income of the children of the mothers is particularly obvious. The paper research shows that the current supervision mechanism and supervision environment have well controlled the phenomenon that officials directly increase the income of their children through power. How to further regulate officials’ children to obtain better income growth conditions through power indirectly should be the goal of future system design .

 

     After the presentation of the thesis, the participating experts and students discussed the content of the article and put forward many useful suggestions.
