At the invitation of the conference organizer, Vice President Zhuang Rui of the Institute of International Economic went to Nanning, Guangxi to participate in the "2017 East Asia Summit and International Conference on East Asia Cooperation" on December 15-17, 2017. The conference was hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the well-known Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), and jointly hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Guangxi University. The theme of the conference is "Jointly Promote the Development of Ease Asia". Dozens of experts and scholars from Japan, South Korea, Russia, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Laos and other countries participated in this international academic seminar. At the conference, Vice President Zhuang Rui gave a keynote speech entitled "RCEP: Progress and Challenges" ("Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement: Process and Challenges"), which was well received by the conference organizers and participants. After the meeting, Vice President Zhuang Rui and scholars from various countries discussed in-depth issues such as East Asia regional economic cooperation and China's “One Belt One Road” initiative, and reached preliminary intentions on the future cooperation between the International Economic Research Institute and ERIA and other international academic institutions.
